Therapy Options
My approach to therapy
My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to your individual needs, experiences and goals. I draw on evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help you better understand yourself, navigate life's challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
“I believe you are the expert in your own life.”
Therapy is not about having all the answers or being told what to do. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together to explore what matters to you, build on your strengths and find a way forward that feels right for you.
There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with, and we will work at a pace that respects your experiences, readiness and individual circumstances.
Therapeutic approaches
Evidence-based, tailored to you
I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, selecting and adapting strategies to suit your needs and what you hope to achieve through counselling.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT helps you change your relationship with painful thoughts and emotions, rather than struggling to get rid of them. Through mindfulness and acceptance skills, you learn to step back from unhelpful thinking and stay present. Together, we clarify your values and take practical, committed steps towards a life that feels meaningful to you.
SFT
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy looks forward rather than back. Instead of dwelling on problems, we focus on your strengths, past successes and the small changes that make a difference. Together, we’ll picture what a better future looks like for you and identify practical steps to move towards it.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT explores the connection between your thoughts, feelings and actions. Together, we’ll identify patterns that keep you feeling stuck, such as self-critical thinking or avoidance, and develop practical strategies to respond in more helpful ways. CBT is structured and skills-based, giving you tools you can use in everyday life.
Polyvagal
Polyvagal-Informed Practice
A polyvagal-informed approach recognises that our nervous system shapes how we respond to stress, connection and safety. When life feels overwhelming, our bodies can become stuck in states of fight, flight or shutdown. Together, we’ll learn to notice these responses with curiosity, and build skills that help you feel more settled, grounded and connected.

What you can expect
A calm, respectful space
I aim to offer a calm, respectful and supportive space where you can feel heard, accepted and understood. Working together, you can expect:
Respect, kindness and patience
Your experiences and feelings will be met with compassion and without judgement.
A safe, collaborative environment
You can share what feels comfortable for you, without pressure to discuss anything before you are ready.
Therapy at your pace
We will work together in a way that respects your needs, readiness and lived experience.
Practical strategies alongside reflection
Our sessions can help you make sense of what you are experiencing while developing tools you can use in everyday life.
Support without prescriptive advice
Rather than telling you what to do, I will help you explore your options, recognise your strengths and find approaches that work for you.
A focus on your strengths and possibilities
Even when things feel difficult or hope seems distant, we can work together to identify possibilities for change and build towards a future that feels more manageable and meaningful.
Moving towards meaningful change
Therapy does not need to be rushed. It is an opportunity to pause, reflect, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and explore new ways of responding to life's challenges.
My hope is that, through our work together, you feel more equipped to navigate difficulties, more connected to what matters to you and more confident in creating a life that reflects your values and aspirations.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start where you are and take the next step together.
